Leonard Orlando, 97, a lifelong Crivitz resident passed away on Monday , January 14, 2013.
Born in the Athlestane area on August 25, 1915 to Antone and Mary (Porfilio) Orlando, he was a cattle dealer and farmer his entire life, retiring in 2011 when he sold the last of his cattle. On June 18, 1949 he married the former Myra Frost of Mountain, WI and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage. Besides his wife, Myra, he is survived by daughters Jean (Lee) Edges of Green Bay and Joan (Tweet) Netzel of Crivitz and a son, Leonard K. (Tony) (Dianne) of Green Bay; grandchildren Rhonda (William) Uelmen of Bonduel, Brad (Heidi) Netzel of Germantown, and Dan and Kristin Orlando of Green Bay; great-grandchildren Cooper and Griffin Uelmen and Jack, Nate and Will Netzel. He is further survived by four brothers; John (Marie), Carl (Pat), Ralph (Pat), and Paul (Virginia) Orlando; two sisters; Stella Frontczak and Annie Katers and sister-in-laws, Vi Orlando and Lil Orlando.
Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Arthur and Louis Orlando and two sisters; Helen Alpern and Josephine Orlando; a son-in-law, Ron Netzel; brothers-in-law, Al Frontczak, Orville Katers and Walt Alpern; a sister-in-law Sharon Orlando and a nephew, John (Jake) Orlando. Family and friends may call at the Rhodes- Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 noon on January 18, 2013 with Pastor Lina Wittman officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Crivitz. The family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care West and Unity Hospice for the care provided to Leonard.
